FAQs

What is Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) and is it a tattoo?

1

While similar to a tattoo, SMP is a specialized medical-grade treatment using different pigments and needles. We deposit micro-dots into the upper layer of the skin to perfectly replicate the look of natural hair follicles. It won't blur or change color like a traditional tattoo.

How many sessions will I need?

2

Most clients require 2 to 3 sessions to achieve the perfect density and shade. We work layers to ensure a realistic 3D effect. Sessions are usually spaced 7 to 14 days apart to allow for proper healing and pigment settling.

Does the treatment hurt?

3

Most clients describe the feeling as a mild tingling or "nicking" sensation. On a scale of 1 to 10, it’s usually a 3. It is significantly less painful than a traditional tattoo, and no downtime is required—you can go back to work the next day.

How long do the results last?

4

SMP is a long-term solution. Results typically last 4 to 6 years before you might need a quick "touch-up" to restore the original crispness. Using sunscreen on your scalp will help maintain the intensity of the pigment for longer.
